Congratulations to Hope Middle School of Greenville and Hickory High School (pictured above), our 2017-2018 The Quill State Champions!

Saturday, December 2 marked the 2017-2018 State Finals of The Quill, the state writing competition for middle and high school students in North Carolina.  The event was hosted by Margaret B Pollard Middle School of Chatham County and saw students answering prompts in Argumentation, Problem/Solution, Narrative (middle school), Creative Writing (high school), Informative/Explanatory (middle school), and Literary Analysis (high school).  

 In addition to the 90-minute on-demand writing session, students heard novelist Karen Pullen speak about her experiences as a writer.
