2013 NCASA Annual Meeting
Students, educators, and schools were recognized for their outstanding contributions and performance during the 2013 NCASA Annual Meeting.


NCASA held its third Annual Meeting Thursday, May 9 at Simon G Atkins Academic and Technology High School in Winston-Salem. Outstanding students, educators, and schools were recognized for their contributions and success in scholastic competitions.

2013 Cup Winners RecognizedThe North Carolina Association for Scholastic Activities is proud to announce the winners of the 2013 Cups presented to the best schools and school systems in North Carolina. Myers Park High School won the 2013 NCASA Scholastic Cup and is recognized as the best high school in North Carolina according to their performance in the major NCASA and Cup partner competitions presented in North Carolina. Myers Park had an incredible run with eleven top ten finishes and four state championships. Jay M Robinson Middle School won the 2013 Middle School Cup presented by Time Warner Cable and is recognized as the best middle school in North Carolina. Robinson had seven top-three finishes and four state championships.

William Peace University NC Show Choir 2013 Champions CrownedThe William Peace University North Carolina Show Choir Competition State Finals were held Saturday, May 4 in the Kannapolis Performing Arts Center. Hunt High School of Wilson and Community House Middle School of Charlotte took top honors and earned Superior ratings.

Charlotte Schools take 2013 Art Showcase TitlesNCASA presented the State Finals of the Art Showcase Competition on May 4, 2013 at the Kannapolis Performing Arts Center. Students created works in seven media types after receiving a prompt. Student winners were recognized in each media type and took home trophies and scores were combined to create a team score. Students from the top three schools took home medals and the top school took home the trophy. Jay M Robinson Middle School dominated by winning six of the seven individual events. In the high school division, the top three high schools had equal scores and the tiebreaker of using the sixth-best score was used to determine first, second, and third place.
