State Quiz Bowl Tournament Results

The North Carolina Association for Scholastic Activities held the State Quiz Bowl Tournament Saturday, April 16 at North Carolina A&T State University.
Finishing in FIRST PLACE with a perfect 8-0 record was The Early College at Guilford. They took the title match 440-200 over second place North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. Members of The Early College at Guilford quiz bowl team are team captain Kiel Williams, Whitney Zhou, Herbert Mehnert, Zachary Thomas, Gareth Fowler, June Williams, and Manu Gargeya. Winning medals for finishing in third place was Raleigh Charter High School.
Here is the final position of the remaining teams that advanced to the State Tournament.

Medals were awarded to each student from the first, second, and third place schools. Trophies were awarded to the winning and runner-up schools. Pictures are available upon request.
Quiz Bowl is the seventh of nine competitions that will determine the best high school in the state. The NCASA Scholastic Cup will be awarded to the high school with the best overall performance among the nine major scholastic competitions in North Carolina. Points are awarded for participation and excellence in the nine NCASA and partner competitions.
